What Are MBA Interviews Like Once You're in a Program?
I’m curious about what the interview process is like for internships and jobs once you’re in an MBA program. Do interviewers still focus heavily on your pre-MBA experience, or do they shift more towards what you’re learning in the MBA program and how you’re developing your skills? I want to make sure I’m prepared for what they’ll be looking for and how I should position myself. Any insights from those who’ve been through this would be really helpful!
Once you're in business school and start coffee chatting and interviewing, the people you meet and talk to will want to know primarily about your most recent job and the work you did there. I can only comment on banking and consulting which will not really care about what you're doing in b school cause they know you're doing a mediocre job in your classes to fit in interview prep with technicals and cases. Also, assuming your interviewing for an internship, you will not even have a semester under your belt.
The only people that might mention your b school are alumni and that might just be something along the lines of "oh is so and so still teaching the corporate finance class" or "why did you decide on that b school"
TL:DR focus your practice talking about the work you did before b school
