What type of undergraduate degrees are recommended to become an IB out of university?
I was wondering what type of undergraduate degrees one should take to increase their chances of being recruited? Will it matter what type of degree you receive or are the firms specific with what type of degree one has before hiring them? (Arts, Economics, Commerce, Business management, ect...etc...)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Finance, perhaps?
Go to highest ranked school, do well, and aim for finance internships.
Major does not matter if your school is good, if not, math then finance then accounting then econ.

depends where you are, I think. I hear of people from my school going into banking with english or philosophy degrees, or whatever. this can be done, but it's atypical - most people at my school who go into banking seem to be econ majors.
I agree with sleepyguyb - people at top schools can major in whatever they want (that said, they still major in econ/finance a lot). i don't know about less-recruited schools.
the reason more people with econ major going into banking is probably because they already know what they want. Whereas those with english or phil majors don't.
From my experience, they don't look at your major as long as you are in one of the targeted schools. In fact, there might be a disadvantage for majoring in accounting or econ as they'll ask all sort of weird finance questions, but for people with non-finance related majors, they ask more behavioral questions.
