Working on Wall Streeet without degree from the USA
HI All,
i am contemplating doing an MBA in the states. i am a South African by nationality and have completed my undergrad degree Finance (honours) in South Africa, and earned the CFA designation. i have been working in Emerging markets (Sub Saharan Africa) Private Equity team at the top rated bank in South Africa for about 3.5 years now.
Would this be enough to get me a job on wall street? or would i still need an MBA from the states to compete effectively?
Youve been in PE for 3.5 years , so I'm guessing you're at post MBA associate. I don't know if the MBA will reset you back to post MBA associate , but transitioning to US PE in a VP position either directly or out of B school looks tough. How are your contacts?
With your experience, you should be fine. MBA will help without a doubt, but I don't think it is necessary for your situation as long as you have some solid contacts you can network with.
