WUSTL or SMU MSF or neither?
I’m interested in pursuing a career in Equity Research or Investment Banking. While I recognize that going to graduate school is not always the traditional path, I’ve been accepted into the MSF programs at SMU and WUSTL. I’m curious about the kind of placements these schools have in ER and IB roles through their MSF programs.
Given that my current full-time role is not directly related to finance, and my undergraduate internships were only somewhat relevant, would attending graduate school help boost my chances of breaking into these fields—especially in terms of networking and securing relevant internships? Or should I continue focusing on networking and leveraging my current position and previous internships to break in without a graduate degree?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
