Banknotes Trading?

Hey everyone, I'm currently interviewing for an analyst position on the banknotes trading desk at a BB – anyone know anything about this desk?

From speaking to the interviewers, it'll mainly involve quoting and trading foreign banknotes/cash (based on a pre-determined schedule), and maintaining relationships with clients. Clients will mostly be the retail branches of the BB, other financial institutions, and hotels/cruises/theme parks.

However, I have no idea how useful this experience will be, what the exit opps are, and how easy it'll be to lateral to other desks. Will it be possible to eventually lateral to something like an FX desk? I don't have any other offers at the moment, but am hesitant to accept if I land this as it seems very focused on execution rather than traditional s&t.

Would greatly appreciate any insight!
