Broker Entertainment Threshold

How much $ in commission needs to be generated before brokers start giving you free perks? not talking about free lunches but more like comped dinners, shows, vacations, etc

also, is there some sort of a general rule regarding the expected value of the comps vs. the $ value of commissions generated? ive heard that it is about 20%, is this figure accurate?

SpiderMonkeyOhYesThe CFA Institute publishes a set of the general brackets of comped entertainment levels by broker that they send to people on request. It's also got some notes about what each broker tends to favour (e.g. holidays with spending money in vegas; strip clubs (they call it "late night entertainment, always found that funny); sports events).

do you by any chance have a copy of that report? contacted them but they only gave me a general set of guidelines without the brokers/tiers thanks

There is no minimum threshold before they start giving you perks, my fellow analysts and I get treated quite often.
