Can scheduling be a long-term career?

I recently got promoted to scheduler after being a trade analyst for 3 yrs (first job out of college). I've read posts on here and talked to people IRL about scheduling being a grueling yet necessary component to becoming a trader.  Like most people, I am very interested in getting into a trading seat.

But in the case that I don't perform at a very high level, I was wondering if scheduling is viable to be a LT career as in I can do just well enough to keep my job and a relatively relaxed lifestyle without having to worry about getting fired.
