Career Path After Prop Trading & CFA
I am currently signed to become a prop trader at Trillium Trading and am very excited.
Although this type of trading is my passion, I need to have a backup plan in case the job doesn't workout as I hoped.
I understand this job does not have many transferable skills to other traditional finance jobs, but regardless, I will have to do my best to find my next best option (if push comes to shove).
If I obtain all CFA levels and have 3 years of experience as a prop trader, what could my next best options for a lateral move be?
Trillium is a scam shop, get that CFA and get out
Would you happen to know of any possible alternative opportunities?
Could you expand on why Trillium is a “scam” shop, I would think these prop shops have high validity if someone like the poster would be interested in going Sell Side BB or a different Buy Side Shop
Trillium specifically is the problem, there are a few other prop shops (WSO has talked about these a lot) are not bad. It's one of those shops where they pay you peanuts and eat what you kill. However, since OP is not someone with trading experience, he has little chance of having an edge and making any money. BBs don't look good on Trillium and the like.
