Confused about desks

Hi All, I have an FT offer at Citi and am a bit confused about the desk choices. I have to give them my preferences, but was wondering what would be a good choice.

How much money does the Global Macro Sales desk pay in bonuses and what are the exit options?

Also, how much do Commodities traders make and is Citi strong in commodities?

Equities in Dallas is where it's at.

Don't go into sales thinking about exit opportunities. The best you can get is either ending up in sales elsewhere OR in some sort of investor relations gig at a HF of big AM. Sales is a pretty sweet gig if it fits your personality, so many tend to stick around

Citi isn't necessarily the best in commodities -- that would be GS, MS JPM, BarCap

Nobody can tell you what the pay will be like unless they work on that desk. And even within the desk, the pay can vary a TON.

Choose the product you enjoy more.

Best of luck and congrats

thanks for your comments - dallas is not an option, as I'll be joining them in london. I enjoy commodities as a product, but someone told me it can get quite mundane and boring after a while. So wanted to make sure I join in at a good desk as this is a good opportunity to lay down my preferences.

Does the pay vary greatly between different desks? while i am inclined towards commodities, I hope the bonus isnt less as compared to rates/fx/equities.
