Corporate Politics in Sales & Trading?

During coffee chats, interviews, etc. I would always hear senior folks say that one should never underestimate politics on the trading floor. I've also heard that people move up/get pushed out due to politics all the time.

How would one navigate the politics on the trading floor? especially as a junior employee.

Curious to hear whether anyone has any stories about trading floor politics to tell.
