Demystifying the Central Risk Desk
I am interested in Central Risk Desk roles at top-tier investment banks (London, New York). Can you please share your insights on that area of the trading floor?
- Banks with the the most notable desks? Those to avoid?
- Type of work and skills needed (is it quantitatively intensive? lots of programming?)
- Compensation (absolute and relative to other desks out there). Still a good place to be?
- Exit opportunities to hedge funds or prop trading houses? Are traders with that type of experience wanted?
- Any advice on how to break in?
Thanks folks
