Does my S&T offer fit into my end goal?

I have an offer in S&T from a BB but I am skeptical in taking it. Here's why:
As I have just graduated, I believe that in this point of time I should be focussing on skills development/opening doors rather than salary, as this will come eventually with the former.
I have an engineering degree and engineering offers too and know I can develop analytical, problem solving skills, soft skills etc but most importantly I will get to manage teams of 10+ within a year at these eng companies - You don't get this sort of exposure at banks
The biggest thing i am concerned about with the S&T route is that it is very niche and probably not useful at all to corporates so therefore is it possible to switch to a corporate management role in the future?. This is quite a concern in an industry with such a high attrition rate and people dissatisfied with their jobs.
After thinking about this a lot, I would want to end up in a senior management position within a corporate in the future, so does it make sense for me to go into S&T? is the switch into a corporate possible after maybe 5-6 years on a S&T desk?
The reason I am in this position is because I did a Chem Eng degree but I have a huge interest in the markets so became a SA and then got the offer. I dont mind the hours (for now, this may change when it comes to having a family etc) and I like the work.
Obviously, you cannot make the decision for me but if you have worked in S&T/made the switch yourself/are in a similar position, your input would be much appreciated.
First off congrats on the offer! I would say unless you have an absolute passion for trading and the markets then S&T probably isn't for you. It sounds like you are conflicted and are looking to use the role as a stepping stone towards a more senior management position. If you want to manage teams of people and as you said yourself "end up in a senior management position within a corporate in the future" S&T is probably not the best route for that. I would look for a corporate development/rotational type role at a F500 or engineering company as you said where you can work your way up the corporate ladder. Most people that go into S&T do so with the intent of staying in S&T for most of if not their entire career. S&T is not like IB where you do it for 2 years gain some "skills" and then move on. If it's something you thoroughly enjoy doing and you can't see yourself doing anything else go for it. If you are using it as a means to get to a senior management position, however, I think there are probably better routes to take to get there. At the end of the day you have to decide where you are going to be most happy and what you ultimately want.
