As a current S&T SA, I was wondering what the typical holiday is for fourth of July. Will the 5th also be off given that it's a Friday?

Nope. Also interning in S&T this summer but as the markets remain open I would expect at least junior ppl to work. Some MDs and VPs may take off. The employment report comes out that day as well so it could be a heavy trading day.
