From S&T to the C-Suite

Is this a possible career track? Many of my schools alums started at the big 4 in audit and worked their way up to being a CFO at mid-sized company's, how can someone from the S&T side of things position themselves for future c-suite opportunities? Would an MBA be necessary to move into management consulting (the path I was thinking would be most likely)?

CanadianEnergyBanker:

No it's impossible to do this. Never been done before.

I've spent a few hours trying to find examples of people that have done it, and outside of the financial services sector can't seem to find any. I'm sure they are out there, but it seems if you want to actually manage people that S&T doesn't position you well.
