From S&T to the C-Suite
Is this a possible career track? Many of my schools alums started at the big 4 in audit and worked their way up to being a CFO at mid-sized company's, how can someone from the S&T side of things position themselves for future c-suite opportunities? Would an MBA be necessary to move into management consulting (the path I was thinking would be most likely)?
No it's impossible to do this. Never been done before.
In all seriousness, there's a bevy of discussions on this forum discussing movements from non-traditional backgrounds to consulting/ib/hf/corp fin I would check those out. The same rules will apply to you even if you don't think your background is exactly identical, the nuance is irrelevant in like 99% of cases.
