HELP! Floor Trader Interview

I have an upcoming interview as an entry level floor trader at a market making firm. To start I didn't really think floor traders were still a thing, but I have no idea what to expect from this interview? Will it be super technical if so what type? Thanks!

Floor trading still exists in some areas, especially in options and commodities, but most roles now blend execution with electronic trading. If it’s a market making firm, “floor” likely refers to a centralized execution desk. The interview will probably be technical—expect mental math, probability, and market intuition questions. They’ll want to see how you think under pressure, not just whether you get the right answer.

thanks that’s good advice but the posting said it would be in an open out cry pit on the exchange floor, so what would that look like interview wise. I am still expecting some mental math.

Yes, that makes sense. If it is indeed an open outcry pit role, then you can expect fast-paced interviews. Mental math will almost certainly come up a lot: quick arithmetic, percentages, maybe some basic probability. They may also throw in a mock trading scenario to test your instincts under pressure. They will be looking for composure, confidence, and quick thinking above all.
