HFT Shops vs BB S&T

Hi all, I’m between S&T @ a BB (think GS/JPM/MS) and HFT firm (think Optiver/IMC/DRW).

Being in a real risk taking role and eventually in Chicago is my end goal, which the HFT would provide. But, I’ve been told having a BB for S&T on your resume is invaluable.

Are there any cons to starting off in this HFT area early in your career and not working on the sell-side first?

I have to decide soon , could really use any insight. Thanks!
