If you're an American bulge? Just gotta find headcount and make sure you articulate your reason well. S&T seems to care a lot more about social fit than IBD for what it's worth. Do you have any thoughts about what desk and sales vs. trading vs. structuring?

I’d love to trade but think it would be a hard sell post mba, but tell me if I’m wrong. Sales would probably make the most sense but I’d definitely be open to structuring.

im pretty open regarding product but rates or some form of structured products would probably be my top choices. I also have an interest in equity sales but haven’t been able to find much info regarding total comp.

I mean they're pretty different roles so if you want to trade then find a rates or SPG trader at your bank who you might have something in common with on LinkedIn and shoot them a quick email. Network with the team and make it known you want it. That's the advice I was given.

Not sure what it will look like as a post mba assoc but I know that at JPM if your manager supports you, you can move anywhere as a first year assoc. Seen EDs move from BO to FO and kids from wealth management to ibd. People on this forum dramatically underestimate how possible it is to lateral.

If you want a job in sales, and you can sell, you won't have a problem finding a position. Do you have a relationship that you can use? Have a good client call a sales desk somewhere and tell them they want to see you working there and it's done.
