Insight on CD Trading Desks?
I'm currently in the process of transferring from a CC to a regional target as a sophomore and have a possible internship position on a CD trading desk. One of my interests is in S&T and was wondering if anyone had any insight on CD desks? While i'd assume CD desks are quite boring, the fact that i'm currently attending CC means I should probably take any opportunity I can get.
thallsy, pure crickets, that's where I come in. Any of these useful?

I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.
Your instincts about it being a relatively boring desk are probably correct, but 1) If there is a time to be on a CD desk, it's now (short end rates are moving around & credit conditions are in flux) 2) It's not a bad desk to start out on to learn about the front-end, which will always be the foundation of the fixed income market. 3) It's just an sophomore internship. It's probably for the best that it's something vanilla & straightforward so that you can knock it out of the park and have time to network with other desks.
