Investment Banking or Consulting for Exit Opps, or go straight to trading
Unlike most people, I'm not fond of trading or looking at financial news and trying to make money (partly because I am not good at it). I'm into investment banking because the actual work seems a lot easier (though much more strenuous). I'm more interested in working within businesses and helping them grow.
I've seen many people say in here that IB has narrow exit opps with only PE or corporate development to go to.
I've also been looking at consulting because you get to work on different projects to do with various businesses and consult on management / strategy.
I'm also very good at maths and enjoy it a lot so people have suggested going into prop trading. But I don't know how to code and I'm not fond of trading because I don't know how to make money off it.
In terms of long term career growth, would BB/EB IB be better or worse than MBB consulting (assuming I get into both which is seriously unlikely)?
*For context, I'm an incoming second-year grad applying for summer internships for 2024. Apologies if I sound incredibly stupid - I am new to all of this.
