Lost My Trading Seat too Cancer

Title is self explanatory. I was a trader carrying my own PNL in the commodity space for several years (3YOE)and my performance was great. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with a cancer that required full time treatment and was forced to leave the company. It’s been ~8 months since I’ve been employed and I’m looking to get back in the game. Do you think employers are going to hold this against me? And as a follow up how would I explain on a resume that I didn’t get fired?

I’m not an expert, but I’d say most employers understand that life happens. Being honest about your health situation is crucial. On your resume, you can simply list the gap as “medical leave” or “health-related break.
