Many people move back office to front office
Just thought I’d drop a note here to give hope for people who want to make the move.
I have met a LOT of people in my time who moved from back office to front office. Admittedly it’s heavily tilted towards S&T vs IBD (most common move I’ve seen here is Big4 > IBD) but it’s not uncommon.
Lots of posts I see on here talk about if they can move, and yes it can be done, but don’t expect it to be instant. Takes a few years of manoeuvring and networking, but do not give up if that’s what you really want.
