Need some advice on choosing 2 offers

I am graduating from a University in Shanghai, China with a physics major. However I am planning to work for financial companies. Now I've got 2 offers and they are given by 2 different newly-openned branch companies of hedge funds. Both in Shanghai.

a. The first one is a trader's position. I'll be trained to trade eurodollar, forex and derivatives. The company's name is GHF Investment Consulting Shanghai and I guess no one have ever heard about that company before for neither have I:( What I know now is that its headoffice locates in London and it has more than 10 branches in India with a name of Futures First.

b. The second is the branch company of ZAIS Group named ZAIS Solutions Shanghai. The business of the branch is asset securitization and CDO. And the main responsibility of the job is to perform financial data processing, deal modeling, cash flow and portfolio risk analysis.

The salaries are about the same(before tax). But the first one can certainly benefit from the bonus. Despite the difference in money, which one has a better career development? My friends told me there was little such business in China yet and probably I can get some advice here. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

The first offers seems a hell lot more interesting... although they are both very different. Go with what interests you more and where you'll learn more.

Thank you very much for your suggestion, b.

I'll try to follow my interest but the problem is I don't even know what the 2 jobs really do at all.

There are very few professional traders in China and even less to trade derivatives. Someone tells me that the development for traders is like that for lawyers or doctors. As time goes by you begin as a trader and end up as a trader too. The change is the experience. Is that true?

I've no idea about the second one either. Their people say at first I'll deal with data and get familiar with the models, then when I'm proved to be OK to enhance I'll get into the model making work. But what exactly does that mean? When I can set models what's the next?

Pretty incoherent. What's the question being asked here -->

"There are very few professional traders in China and even less to trade derivatives. Someone tells me that the development for traders is like that for lawyers or doctors. As time goes by you begin as a trader and end up as a trader too. The change is the experience. Is that true?"

What do you want to end up doing?

"I'm not sure what the four 9's do, but the ace, I think, is pretty high."

Thank you, BlueHorseShoe. I think the problem for me is I don't really know what a trader's career or a financial analyst on CDOs is like. They are both totally new to me and perhaps totally new to most people in China. So I can't make my decision or even answer the question "What do you want to end up doing?" I wonder if there's any websites, books or other resources for a general understanding of the 2 jobs? Thank you very much.
