Physical Trader to Commodity Sales

I currently work for one of the largest independent traders and have worked my way up to a Junior Trading role having been through the ranks of operations and deals desk (financial risk). I cover what is considered to be a regional market for the company and although i'm considered to be in a good position, there are limited opportunities to expand the business (company is not a major therefore not willing to invest/expand in the market). It has also proven difficult to move up internally in the company to larger markets as they need my skillset in the regional market. Exit ops wise there are not many opportunities due to the small nature of the market. Recently i've been approached by a major financial institution ie bank to run their origination/sales business for the market for a considerably higher salary than i'm being paid.

Are there any others who've made the switch to the financial side and know what to expect? Pros/Cons etc.
Thanks
