Quantitative Trading rankings
How would you rank different quant-bent trading groups/programs at different companies? Here's my (not entirely informed) view of things:
Tier 1: Goldman Sachs FICC Algo desk Goldman Sachs GSAM QIS Jane Street Capital Getco Morgan Stanley PDT Citadel
Tier 2: SIG DRW Trading Citi Quantitative Trading and Analysis Wolverine Trading Jump Trading
Tier 3: Chicago Trading Company Spot Trading Knight IMC Market Optiver
Tier 4: A bunch of obscure Chicago prop shops
What would you disagree with/agree with on my list?
Could someone let me know how the quant trading groups/programs at JPMorgan, Barclays, Credit Suisse, UBS, DB, BoA, other Morgan Stanley groups fit into this list? I've not heard much of them.....
where is DE Shaw and renaissance?
Wolverine above Optiver? No way.
The ranking is so misinformed it should just be deleted.
Jane Street and Getco are great firms, but they don't belong in the same tier as goldman, morgan stanley PDT, and citadel. Also, Optiver should be ahead of Wolverine and Jump.
