Regrets about turning down QR internship

Howdy,

I recently received two offers: one for a QR at a bank with a nice name, and one for QT at a big SWF. I ended up taking the QT role because the problem the volume was massive and the project, interviews, and people seemed more interesting than the QR role.

But since then I have been regretting my decision. I’m an undergrad in stats at a target school and I don’t think I think (could be wrong) that QR is quite rare for undergrad. Coupled with the elite bank, it would have deepened my resume a lot. Plus I love research and want to pursue a PhD.

Any advice on dealing with regret. Trying to find ways I can spin this to think I did not mess up. It has been hard right now bc I have been excluded from a lot of the finance culture at my campus and the first role would have given me some serious clout. (Ik it doesn’t matter in long run) Furthermore, are there ways to switch from QT to QR?

Lots of appreciation in advance.
