Restrictions on Trading other Asset Classes while in ER

Hi all. I am a physician 2.5 years out of residency. I have wanted to go into equity research for a very long time, but I got a lot of personal advice to keep going with med school and residency and keep up my personal portfolio to gain experience. I can't say I regret it. I did moonlighting during residency and the money I can make as an attending has been much higher than I ever expected.

Lately, I've gotten more interested in biotech, and I think I would be a good fit for a biotech ER job. It would be a step down in salary but I have enough savings that I can manage that.

My main holdup is that I have a sizeable personal portfolio that I have been using to invest in individual stocks and trade in futures over the last 12-13 years. Managing my personal portfolio has been my main hobby/interest outside of medicine for a long time.

I understand I would be required to report any individual equity trades, but what about futures trades?  I've developed a sort of CTA-type trend following system in the bond and commodity futures that seems to be getting okay results, and I am reluctant to stop trading it.

I have also dabbled in currencies - my results there are not good, but I would love to keep experimenting without too much restriction. Would this be restricted if I have an ER job?
