Sales and Trading 2019 internship recruiting for PhD candidates

Hi all,

I just finished my first year of my CS phd and am starting to think about different internships to pursue for next summer. In my lab (Computer vision), students typically stay and do research for the summer, and are then free to intern for the following summers. I have an interest in finance and have looked at prop shops and quant funds, but have always loved the idea of working in s&t at a big bank. I started to look into summer 2019 internships, but it seems that these banks only hire undergraduates? What is the timeline/protocol for students with advanced degrees? Also, any tips on how to get my foot in the door and land an initial interview?

Thanks
