Sales Questions

I’m a prospect trying to find what are of finance most interests me. I have a couple of questions about sales:

1) Is finance sales much different from regular sales? E.g. could a corporate salesman pick up a sales job in a BB? Why / why not? What about HF vs PE vs BB vs AM sales? Is there movement between them?

2) What does the work actually consist of aside from entertaining clients?

3) What are the key skills? I’m guessing sociable but able to put on a mask (e.g not let a bad day affect your mood with a client)

4) How often do people transfer between S & T?

5) Do salesman enjoy their job generally? Is the work engaging, non-repetitive, satisfying etc?

6) How do you get a sales role in say a BB? Never heard of a sales internship or such, and I can’t quite grasp what profiles apply. I’m guessing target kids who show they are sociable?
