Seeking Advice from Commodity Hardos

Any commodity hardos out there that have had success in switching desks? From what I understand it takes a fair amount of networking but it can be done. I am currently a physical trader at a small shop and I am looking to make the transition into energy, oil, or the ags at a bigger shop (eg. shell, Louis Dreyfous, Vitol, etc.). I am willing to do anything and go anywhere to complete this transition.

Also, can you touch on what the comp looks like at these shops? My main motivation in eventually making the switch is compensation. From what I have seen on the WSO salary guide it seems as though the comp is much less competitive than at my current firm. Does anyone know what these traders at top shops look like? The average trader at my firm pulls mid 6 figures.

Would getting an MBA be a good stepping stone to making this transition? I'm worried that I have pigeonholed myself into my given commodity that is not traded at the elite shops.

If you are a commodity trader at one of these shops could you please discuss what your average day looks like.
