I can't comment on that because I do not have experience in that area. I would say you have a better shot of moving up from a lower shop than you do if you take a job at Kraft doing corp finance. If you want to do trading then do it regardless of the place.

You want to be yelled at constantly at work? You want to get fired within first couple of months?

Do some research on elitetrader you will know what this firm is like, probably the worst one on earth...

Have you worked there?

I have no problem with a little bit of yelling.....alot of money is at stake. How many of their hires do they fire on average? The people on elite trader never seem to know exactly what they are talking about.

you can search on LinkedIn, and see how many people only worked there for a few months...

i saw a girl's profile on linkedin who worked at simplex for about 2 years and then went to harvard business. no idea how she got in. it's nearly impossible for prop traders to get into a top 3 MBA program.

Maybe she beat the hell out of the GMAT

gmat score alone is not sufficient to get into a school like HBS. this isn't law school where a perfect LSAT score will all but guarantee admission to harvard law. one of my best friends worked at McKinsey, engineering background, 770 GMAT, and got rejected at harvard, stanford, wharton, and columbia.

my guess is this girl made tons of money for simplex; perhaps she devised a new trading model for them. and as a result she got really good recommendations. also, it's easier for girls to get in.
