Strategist VS Trader (Asia based)
Hi All,,
I am offered 2 different positions, one is strategist position in global research team in a british bank and the other one is credit trader position in a japanese ibank....both r in Asia
credit trading one is based in my home country..
I don't know which one to pick...seem that my personality fits to be strategist better (love to sit down and think..not really a quick thinker)..but then seems that i can learn a lot more in trading...and also it is in my home country
Any suggestion? Any help will be greatly appreciated..!!!!
by the way...that one is fixed income strategist position..
if the Jap bank is Nomura, then its a no brainier. Generally speaking, British IB is weak in Asia while Nomura tops underwriting table in every aspect compare to BarCap. With aquisition of Lehman Nomura owns Brits ass. On top of that you can be home, so this is an obvious choice. BTW fixed income market is weak in Asia (excluding Japan).
they are both ex japan positions...is it still true??
