Too late to apply for Barcap HK?

I'm wondering whether it's too late to apply for Barcap SA in Hong Kong.

Its deadline is Dec 31 so I clearly have a few more weeks, but Barcap says in its website that the company recruits on a rolling basis(doesn't say when its application started, though).

Will I still have a fair chance to have an interview with Barcap HK if I apply, say, within this week? And is there anyone who already got a first/second round interview with Barcap HK?

nope not out yet, and besides, why dont you try regardless? it will take 30 minutes max. is there a downside?

So if I apply for SA in HK, I can't apply for another location. I was somewhat leaning toward a summer analyst position in NY because I have a few contacts there. And Barcap Asia didn't come to my school, while Barcap US did.

Your comment is encouraging, thanks. Do you also know when they officially started their app process in Asia--if that ever counts?

Isn't it a bit obvious then? Apply to the NY division since you're so sure that you have better connections for a job there.

they have been expanding in asia like crazy since early this semester. i would suggest call hk office directly and use multiple email addresses to apply for different positions. you need to pass screening test btw, if you dont know people. hope it helps.:)

dude honestly, one possible solution to this is to just create TWO ACCOUNTS when registering. In my experience dealing with some APAC/North America HR issues regarding employment, I think while they do use the same global recruiting system, they barely interact with each other. Honestly, if you get hired by Barcap HR North America under one account and get hired by Barcap HR APAC on another account, 95% chance they wont find out about it unless you specifically mention to someone you applied to both.

just for reference, i am aware of many people last year at my school which received offers from same bank both APAC and North America. If your campus has resume drop, you can get a job without ever registering online (they just make you fill out the info after extending you the offer).
