Yes something to that affect. My end goal is to work at a prop trading firm. I'm working at a BB right now as a financial advisor coming on about a year, I have M&A experience for about a year and a half as an intern as well, worked in a Boutique.

I'm going for my CFA part 1 this december because I really enjoy learning how to evaluate fundamentals which is crucial to a solid understanding of what we all do day to day. Even if the CFA doesn't help me get a trading position at a prop firm in my mind its not just another degree to me.

All in all I have about two years of experience in Finance under my belt.

I also have my Series 7, series 66 licensees .

I hate sales, I really enjoy the markets and trading based on a mix of fundamentals and technicals. My job right now is basically trying to generate a client base.

I'm 26 right now and hoping to work until 30 and then go for my MBA, and who knows after that.

What I have going against me is a non target school, I live in NYC though so I am close to the action.

What I'm reading is that most people go from trading assistant to trader over the course of a few years, so I should really be looking at a trading assistant position.
