Trading internship - Reputable prop shop

Is it possible to intern at a reputable prop shop not during summer. I'm not talking Optiver level shop, but someplace relatively good. If so how would i go about getting it? Networking, cold calling alumni?

I attend Uchicago/NU if that helps.

You definitely can. There are always internships that are available during the school year, as long as you find the place that has it.

Try your shcool's career center/website to see if they have any listings that fit the bill. Also use those listings, if they have summer internships, for contact information. Reach out to those firms and see if they can do school year internships. Networking will be key. You should start with an e-mail with a brief introduction and asking for a phone informational. Reach out to Alumni in those firms if possible.

Good luck!!
