Trading with different banks
Can any buy-side traders speak to trading with Nomura counterparts? I'm considering an offer and looking for some insight on how smooth these transactions are, and how I've been told that prices and volume are competitive but want more perspective.
Thanks

Hope that helps.
depends on the desk....Nomura is a HUGE japanese bank, so they have plenty of balance sheet if hey really need it.
Thanks for the comment, this would be specific for US agency/non-agency if you have any insight there
in the past, Nomura has been willing to spend money to get top talent to run their trading desks (which means, big risk takers and P&L generators)...so if i were you, i would jump at the chance to trade rates at Nomura
I have traded with and competed with Nomura at various points in my career, they do a very good job in both agency and non-agency. Most of the people I have encountered there are smart, professional and enjoyable to be around. They are active on the banking side in non-agency (which means they trade it) and have a lot of sheet and good research for agency. You really can't go wrong with either desk, great spot to be in.
Really appreciate the response, thanks
