What can I do to eventually get a Quant Trading internship?

I'm a chemical engineer at a target school (Imperial College London), just finished 1st year, and I was wondering what I can do to strengthen my CV to break into finance and eventually end up as a quant trader?

My first year I have not done much (I kind of wasted it), but I have begun doing work to hopefully make my CV stronger-

I am reading abt option pricing, learning how to code basic financial models in python, and also doing a lot of problem solving qs (from the book Heard on Wall street and also A practical guide on quantitative finance interviews). I'm also doing problems from NeetCode 150 to give me a good foundational level of coding, and this other site quantguide which has a variety of problem, from brainteasers to stats and etc

My current CV doesn't have anything on it that would stand out for a finance role, so I was hoping to get ideas on what more I can do this summer to prepare me to get a finance role for the next application cycle
