What does career trajectory look like?

Hey Everyone,

I was just wondering what the next plays in my career would be given what my Junior year internship is. I'll be doing portfolio management and trading for a fairly large bank, reinvesting the bank's earnings into a variety of investment vehicles. They mention how they use both a fundamental and technical approach in pinpointing investments, highlighting specifically programming models to optimize investments. I sort of just applied for this position, and received it, and have no clue where to go from there. Cause with IB its like PE or HF. But here, I'm not entirely sure. Hoping someone with expertise in this line of business can help me out.

Yeah, so I am interning on a credits trading desk for a pretty decent firm. But I want to rerecruit for the best of the best, like JPM, Goldman, etc. I was wondering if you would have insight on how to get a full-time gig for one of those top firms in trading. I'm assuming the best course of action is to scour LinkedIn for people who came from my school (ultra target) and work in the specific desks of interest, set up calls, and see if openings will be available in the near future. I have a follow up actually as well. For a full time role in trading at BB, is there a formal recruiting process. Or, do I network, and implicitly they'll set something up for me to interview for.
