What to learn senior year after S&T offer

I am a sales and trading summer analyst and have just received my return offer. I will be doing FX trading, however won't know what desk I will be placed on until couple months into 1st year. I'm hoping to trade a more sophisticated product (maybe not spot), and definitely want to prepare to be capable of doing so. For those of you trading FX, what kind of skill/knowledge would you want to see an incoming analyst have? To provide some background, I study Finance/Econ at school. Suggestions I've received so far include python, vba, and a lot of math. If math is the answer, it would be great if you can specify one or two topics. Much appreciated.

Top priority would be to find out and research which hedge funds you can jump to after your mandatory 1 or 2 year term on the sell-side. FX is getting pretty squeezed right now, from spot to derivatives. But I've heard you can go to research or a macro fund.

If you're in an analyst program, you're not even going to be doing real trading right off the bat, and as such, your bonus won't be tied to your desk performance. Your base and bonus are pretty much guaranteed unless the bank goes under. Prepare less for your desk - they'll teach you everything at onboarding anyway - and prepare more for where you want to be afterwards.
