write a letter to yourself 10 years ago. what would it say?

So i am starting out in stock trading and i really don't know where to begin. So i ask all of you what would you tell your younger self that you wish you had known then when you first started.

  1. Do your homework. No it does not impact your self worth whether or not you get C's, B's, or A's, but if you are capable of getting A's, and get A's on all of the tests, stop making dumbass 15 year old arguments about why it's good enough that you know you can get an A and how never doing your homework brings your GPA down is unfair. Colleges don't care about your overabundance of self confidence or your problem with "the system."

  2. Play soccer instead of football. Your knee and back will thank you. You'll still get laid because girls don't really care. 10 years from now when your football career is long gone and you play soccer for fun and exercise, you'll be a lot better

  3. Enjoy Final Fantasy while you still can. The series goes to shit after the Playstation 2.

  4. Don't friendzone yourself. Your friends are sexy as hell. There is no reason for you to wait until college to learn how to get laid regularly. Becoming the shoulder to lean on is not the correct method.

Seconded the grades thing^. Put in at least 50%, it'll probably be enough

It'd be imposible, but I'd tell myself to enjoy childhood for what its worth - no one will make you lunch, drive you to activities, and you will not have as much time for yourself for another 40 years.

Wear nicer clothers - you looked like you were colorblind and homeless

Stay in touch with more people

Dammit OP thanks for the key to regret city

  1. Stop trying to pimp babies on AIM and buddypic and do your homework
  2. Drop the kids in my life that it's easy to tell they aren't going anywhere
  3. PLAY football harder. You had an excellent career in high school and it taught you some valuable life lessons.
  4. Don't quit that Vons job that sucked major d just because you hated pushing carts and you thought you were too good for it.

Take a chill pill and just relax - you don't actually want to be studying calculus when you're 13. That's just weird.

  1. No, you were right the first time: go ahead and buy those Bear Stearns puts before going on vacation (they were one helluva lottery ticket and you'll feel like a massive idiot for looking at them, but not buying them cheap)....!

  2. Talk to Dad one last time (that email from him a week before he died has been messing with my head all kinds of ways for the last 2 years...)

  3. Don't sweat it: By your own design, your life is big a rollercoaster, and not an elevator: each of your "lows" was promptly followed by an much higher, faster, (scarier?) high...!

Woah...

and I talked about video games. Damn

I'd talk to my two cousins and my uncle again too. Actually, that's all I would do.
