LMM tech buyout / growth equity shops w/ ops focus

Most growth equity shops won’t be very ops heavy since the name of the game is 1) find companies with good unit economics and product-market fit, 2) throw $ at them to spend on S&M, etc, 3) profit. Ops focused funds tend to back deals with more hair than that. 
 

So with that in mind... Marlin, STG, Veritas, and Clearlake are great MM firms here

BV Investment Partners (based in Boston). Phenomenal culture (close interaction with Partners); high operational engagement. Can't speak to salary.

Parthenon Capital seems operationally involved (and hire consultants). They're more MM than LMM though.

Providence Strategic Growth and LLR come to mind as tech-focused LMM but I'm not sure how operationally involved they are.

Thanks both! I think PSG / LLR types but with a dedicated operating team is what I’m looking for. Does anyone have any insights on the universe of firms that fit the profile?

What do you define as a "focus on ops"?

For some firms this just translate into "we hire a bunch of mediocre consultants for too much $". Others have an in-house team they drop into deals with varied outcomes. Any truly ops focused firm will usually be very niche, and more likely to be LMM/MM. 

On the growth equity side, same deal.
