Pivot | Alt to ER

Hi, I'm curious about whether pivot from Alternative Investments to Research is feasible.

I've been working in the industry for ~4y (~2y after undergrad) and all my experience is in real estate investments / funds (private equity, private debt, REIT, and FoF), where had exposure to several type of deals like IPO, F/O, debt issuances, acquisitions, co-inv., and divestitures (under the real estate cap). Moreover, I passed the 1st exam of the CFA Program (not trying to complete it in the short term).

Now, I'd like a different experience before pursuing an MBA, so I was considering Equity / Fixed Income Research, mainly because the bank I work on has a strong buyside team and also changes between departments are "quite easy" (also prefer to stay here because it has attractive financing T&C for MBA).

Any advice? Is this possible? Which skills do I need to develop?
I think that I have strong modelling skills, but the fact that I come from a real estate team is not appealing (considering that now I'm a senior analyst). I thought to post on VIC / SumZero to then show it in future interviews.
