Tech IB vs VC/Growth Analyst Programs for VC
Hey everyone, I'm graduating this year and currently deciding where to be full-time next year. I have the option to join an elite boutique (one of Evercore, Lazard, PJT, Centerview) for their tech banking group. However, I'm also thinking about recruiting for the analyst programs at firms like Insight, General Atlantic, and Bessemer. Which path would better set me up for a long-term career in venture/growth? From what I can gather there are tradeoffs – have heard that having banking experience is useful especially in growth but building out a network earlier on in VC as an analyst has its advantages as well.
Hey Prospect in VC, I swear if I had a silver banana for every lonely thread I posted too I'd be richer than @compbanker ...
