PWM for 2 summers in a row

I'm a sophomore right now. The summer after my freshman year I did an unpaid BB PWM. It was mad boring and a lot of the time I was sitting around just doing annoying Excel stuff, but I did learn a lot. It was I'd say one of the better PWM groups to work for because the guys were pretty cool.

At the end of the summer, the Financial Advisor said if I came back he would use his contacts between both the BB and some of his clients to try and get me a solid junior summer analyst gig in whatever field I want. He says that since I'm going to be a sophomore he could really set me up well for junior year because he'll have a lot more time to prepare and contact his network.

I'm not sure if he's bullshitting and whether I can trust him. Between the Junior FA and the Senior FA, they probably have a good base of contacts, but can I really trust them in this job market? However, I was with another intern this past summer from a target who was going into his Senior year (he fucked up recruiting), and I saw the junior FA calling some contacts and trying to do his best to help the kid out. He had his resume well-edited and wanted to help him out. The FA even took him after work one day to the BB's main building to talk to some S&T group head and put him directly on the phone with an MD at an prominent AM firm.

In terms of my only set in stone options, I have this PWM gig and my family, although they may be able to get me something better.

It's a hard decision because being an intern in PWM truly sucks and is something a judge would inflict on an first timer instead of community service, but if the FA's can set me up junior year for an analyst gig or whatever it might be worth it. Honestly though I've never heard of someone doing PWM two summers in a row. What do you guys think?

glad you quoted it four times. dude you are lightyears ahead of 90% of people with even two PWM internships. Even if he is bullshitting, having both summers will set you up fine for SA roles alone, but if he does help you, double score. There aren't that many places that take freshman and sophomores, you are overestimating your competition in my opinion.
