Thoughts on Career Projectory

Whats up monkeys,

So by the title, I need a bit of advice or just thoughts on the possibility of my projection. For background, I'm a rising senior in a low-target business school studying finance and analytics. I have my SIE and passed the CFA Level 1 exam. I am mainly interested in fixed income portfolio management so obviously I have been interested in institutional asset management as a post-grad job. However, a huge development in my life is the possibility of my father wanting me to join his financial advisory practice. It is self-owned and run by him, my mom, and his colleague who is a CPA Tax professional and was in M&A law. His only request is that I go wealth management post-grad for two years to learn the business at a larger firm, and exit to go back home to upstate NY to eventually aid him and then take it over myself, a reasonable request obviously. My question is if I don't go into what I really find interesting, though I'm not saying I wouldn't enjoy advising, and end up in my fathers firm (its around 100m AUM, mainly regional clients with a few national) in whats the outlook and possibility of me growing it into a larger business from his current lifestyle practice he runs. My goal would be to eventually hire employees and really build it out into a larger firm, and take more of a CEO approach after the leg work. Any thoughts, would I be crazy not to join him?
