1st round Interview Accounting Questions
I have a first round interview soon with WF. As per WSO and other sources it sounds like there's a mix of fit and technical questions, with the technicals being mainly accounting related.
What types of accounting questions or topics are typical in first round interviews? Also, any other technicals that could be fair game?

For IBD? For WFC make sure you know the financial statements cold and how a sale or an increase in depreciation will affect each statement.
The three statement effect of changes in line items, how the three statements are linked together, what working capital is and what is a source/use of cash, how to calculate various metrics (like NOPAT, FCF, etc.), multiples, DCF, you know the usual.

Folks,
I am an MBA student at a top 12 university. Unfortunately could not get an internship in IB/CorpFin.
Currently preparing for full time recruitment in IB. I know that I do not have a strong case because of a lack of internship on my resume.
Have been studying the Vault guide.
Are there any other resources that I can use to prepare for the Technical Interview ... especially Financial Accounting part.

Hm... Didn't you have accounting classes during your studies? I think analysis of financial statements should be a part of curriculum

Accounting Questions in Interviews (Originally Posted: 08/01/2007)
First of all thanks to everyone, I have been reading this forum for a while and think it is a valuable tool. I have a question about the accounting aspects of interviews, what are the best ways to prepare for accounting questions? How obscure are they? I have taken two basic accounting classes but it has been over a years since I finished them. I have a great feel for the fit questions, brainteasers, and pure finance questions(DCF, IRR, valuation methods). I can comprehend and explain everything on a basic balance sheet. What else should I know? Thanks in advance.
My first interview with a mid size Ibank included zero accounting qestions... but hey, maybe that was a bad sign! :) Anyhow, I still believe that 90% is "know you, like you, trust you". If you have the interview they know you have the skills.
thats all just my opinion.
