2010 Compensation Guide - '09 versus '10
Just reviewed the 2010 WSJ compensation guide and noticed that senior associate comp appeared to be down relative to prior years:
2nd Year All In: $220m in 2010 vs. $226m in 2009 vs. $295m in 2008
3rd Year All In: $255m in 2010 vs. $296m in 2009 vs. $333m in 2008
I was under the impression that compensation rebounded in 2010 relative to 2009. Any thoughts on this?
I feel like the database is wrong....surely first years are pulling down way more than a measly $105K
In NYC sure, you're right but you gotta remember the boutique firms in Cleveland and Oklahoma City, etc.
yeah, all the cities where it actually feels like you're making 6 figures instead of going broke (nyc)
dude, you gotta consider region, group, smaller boutiques, etc. think man.
Can someone post a link to the 2010 compensation guide?
Wow the database is pretty skewed towards smaller markets. I'm surprised first year associate at PE makes less than $150K all in on average, I've been hearing anywhere from 250 to 400 all in in NYC and CA to less than 80 all in in smaller cities in the Midwest.
