Advice for investment banking/private equity

Hey everyone. I'm a sophomore at a non target school and I need some advice in going into IB. I was originally a Philosophy Pre Law co major and transferred into my uni business school this year as a finance major. I worked a case competition for Blair with some friends last semester and I realized that I was really interested in investment banking and Private Equity after I read up on them. Im not in my schools IB club but Im confident with my GPA I'd be able to get in next semester during junior year but Im worried that would be too late. Any advice on a career I could do pre MBA to be able to break into PE other than Consulting and IB or any advice to improve my chances of getting a full time offer or a decent internship offer the summer before senior year?
