BAML to join GS in raising analyst salaries via Bloomberg
Can't post the link because I don't have enough banana points. It's from a Bloomberg article from today.
Thoughts? Will 85k soon be starting base salary for all BBs?

Career Resources
An increase in base salary and "decreased" hours will result in smaller bonuses. [Unless everyone ends up being more productive]
They all followed MS.
They all followed MS, just in a bit different way.
will this apply to banking or s&t as well. the articles are a bit contradictory. also JPM to follow suit.
With BAML matching salaries while drastically increasing the size of the Analyst class it could be a very good place to work. Lower bonuses but a much more enjoyable work / life balance.

So a lot of articles cite the fact that the banks are doing this to entice analysts to stay but what are the chances PE firms are going to sit back and let the best guys stick around the bank for an extra 15k/year? This has to flow upwards right? Megafund CEOs got paid $500mm a pop last year, there's certainly the $ to bump up PE associate pay and prevent any impact
what will happen after the associate 0 stub period year? 125 to 150?
