Best PE Shops for WLB and Pay

Seems the list of “top tier” PE and growth equity shops is limitless now thanks to the never ending bull market (less the hiccup last March). Anyone have advice on how to narrow down a list to recruit for from BB IB Coverage group?

Best PE shops for work life balance that don’t pay peanuts? Looking for the perfect job, I know...

Only fund that pays moderately well, has decent deal flow and has strong work life balance is TPG Growth. $275K/$325K a year during your associate stint for an average of 60 hours a week is pretty optimal. Every person I know there was very happy to talk about their experience given the hours, pay, direct promote. Heard some negative things about the big / sexy deals getting taken out by the buyout fund which sucks, and that you get siloed into an industry.

It's cause historically a large part of the job description was to study for and take the ACTs.  Times have changed.
