Canada PE Shops that hire out of UG?

Would appreciate any help on PE shops or firms with a PE arm that hire out of undergrad in Canada? I know OTPP, CPP, Omers, thus far (basically the Pension Funds). Ideally shops with at least $1bn AUM. Thanks in advance!

You'll quickly realize how small the PE market is in Canada when compared to the US. Most shops just don't have the resources or the capacity to train analysts and hence do not have an analyst program. Outside of the pensions who have analysts programs (note that OMERS' and OTPP's analyst programs are relatively new), I have seen a few undergrads place at some of the smaller infra shops who do some direct investing (Instar and Caledon come to mind). Generally those who transition to PE come from IBD (Big 5 or US BB homecoming) or consulting with a few years of experience. Another interesting thing to note is that PE recruiting in Canada is super unstructured - you'll actually see quite a few people who go A2A at the banks and then transition to a PE role a few months into their ASO1 stint because there is no 'on-cycle' with the exception of maybe Onex and Altas.
